Adult Education & Formation

At St. Luke, lifelong learning is a vital part of our faith journey. Forum@ is our take on adult forum, featuring engaging discussions on ELCA social statements, current events, social ministry, historical and literary contexts of scripture, and more.

We also offer a special Adult Confirmation Program alongside a Lutheran 101 Refresher, providing an opportunity to deepen your understanding of faith and theology.

On Tuesdays at 12:15 (except third Tuesdays) we gather in the Campus Ministry Lounge for a Bring Your Own Lunch Bible Studycovering the previous Sunday’s texts.

Additionally, throughout the year, the St. Luke Book Club meets to discuss many genres of literature.

Pr. Jason's Doctoral Project

Have you ever wondered what the earliest followers of Jesus really believed? What if the beginnings of our faith were more diverse, daring, and dynamic than we ever imagined?

This summer and fall, Pastor Jason is inviting members of the community to participate in a (hopefully) groundbreaking small group series as part of his Doctor of Ministry work with United Lutheran Seminary.

Together, we will dive into a rather mysterious and electrifying ancient text discovered in the Nag Hamdi in 1945 and translated to English in 1977 —The Thunder, Perfect Mind.

How this works:

In order to fulfill the requirements for his doctoral work, Pr. Jason is looking for participants to join in four 90 minutes sessions.

Whether you are curious about early Christian history, interested in the feminine divine, or ready to expand your understanding of scripture, this is a chance to deepen your faith, ask brave questions, and participate in something truly sacred: reading together, learning together, and becoming transformed by what we find.

What to expect:

  • Explore an ancient, mysterious text: The Thunder, Perfect Mind, a bold voice from early Christianity.
  • Uncover diverse beginnings of the Jesus movement before empire shaped the church.
  • Engage topics like gender, power, paradox, and the feminine divine.
  • Reflect on today’s questions about faith, nationalism, and who God can be.
  • Choose one of three small groups this fall-no experience needed, just curiosity. Each group will explore the same content—just pick the time and location that works best for you.

Groups will meet once a week for 90 minutes, over four weeks.
