Join us after worship for refreshments and a conversation with Tim Krick from Lutheran World Relief.
Rev. Tim Krick, from Lutheran World Relief will share stories of the impact and all the ways lasting change is created when we partner with them. LWR was founded by Lutherans in the United States at the end of World War II. They tackle global poverty by helping people adapt to the challenges that threaten their livelihoods and well-being. Additionally, they provide aid in emergencies and help families restore their lives and partner with local leaders to grow rural economies and build healthy communities, breaking the cycle of poverty so our neighbors all around the world can thrive. He will talk about all this and their current work in Ecuador (refugees and asylum seekers being sent there from the US) and Lebanon (over 1 million displaced people due to the current war and violence) to address emergency situations in both countries.
Ordained in the ELCA, Tim lives out his calling as a Senior Advisor for Congregation Engagement for LWR. In this role, he works with pastors and congregations across various Lutheran denominations to help them fulfill their global outreach ministry and helps them understand the impact of their generosity among the most vulnerable people in the world. Prior to coming to LWR, Tim served congregations outside of Appleton, WI and Portsmouth, NH, where he and his family currently reside. Tim originally hales from the Chicago suburbs where he taught 5th grade and 7th grade Science. He bleeds "Cubbie blue" and is optimistic about the future of the Bears.
