Have you ever wondered what the earliest followers of Jesus really believed? What if the beginnings of our faith were more diverse, daring, and dynamic than we ever imagined?
This summer and fall, Pastor Jason is inviting members of the community to participate in a (hopefully) groundbreaking small group series as part of his Doctor of Ministry work with United Lutheran Seminary.
Together, we will dive into a rather mysterious and electrifying ancient text discovered in the Nag Hamdi in 1945 and translated to English in 1977 —The Thunder, Perfect Mind.
How this works:
In order to fulfill the requirements for his doctoral work, Pr. Jason is looking for participants to join in four 90 minutes sessions.
Whether you are curious about early Christian history, interested in the feminine divine, or ready to expand your understanding of scripture, this is a chance to deepen your faith, ask brave questions, and participate in something truly sacred: reading together, learning together, and becoming transformed by what we find.
What to expect:
Groups will meet once a week for 90 minutes, over four weeks.
