A thirty minute presentation of choral music and chant following the ancient monastic order for night prayer will be offered at First Baptist Church on Thursday, February 5 at 8pm. All are welcome. According to director Erik Kibelsbeck, “The candlelit time is primarily about slowing down and hearing beautiful music sung by a choir. Attendees participate through listening only and people of any religious background or none are welcome. The singers and I have been doing this since the pandemic and the people who attend find it to be a truly moving and beautiful time.” Morten Lauridsen's "O Nata Lux" and music from the Orthodox tradition will be featured. The event is also livestreamed and available afterwards at the “Compline from St. Luke Ithaca” YouTube channel.
