Our compline choir has been nomadic lately, moving around Ithaca for services.  We’re coming back to St. Luke for a special experience in the Narthex!  We’ll still be candlelit and livestreamed, but the choir will surround listeners, who are invited to bring yoga mats or sit on our beanbags, or of course we’ll have regular chairs.  If you’ve ever attended, or never have, this is a great chance to hear the gorgeous service of compline (night prayer) at our home base in a really special and intimate (but not intimidating!) way.  Please feel free to park in the driveway—since we’ll all leave at once it’s ok to park each other in.

The main reflection will be a stunning Renaissance motet on the following text:
When David heard that Absalom was slain
He went up to his chamber over the gate
And wept; and thus he said:
O my son Absalom, my son
My son Absalom!
Would God I had died for thee
O Absalom, my son, my son!
